Bio – Amanda Allaway, HR Consultant

Amanda is a Senior HR and Employment Law specialist with over 36 years of experience working in the Northern Ireland Civil Service across the public and trade union sectors.

Amanda has extensive experience and expertise in managing and advising on employment litigation, providing strategic HR leadership, and dispute resolution.

• Held senior roles including Head of HR Litigation Unit and Departmental Equal Opportunities Officer, making a key contribution to the delivery and development of HR policies and processes particularly in the areas of equality and discrimination.
• Led a strategic HR team managing over 40,000 Tribunal claims and personally managed the most complex and high-risk employment cases while providing strategic HR advice and risk analysis to senior officials and Ministers.
• Served as a senior trade union negotiator and advocate contributing to major industrial relations forums, engaging in dispute resolution and providing individual representation.
• Appointed as a Lay Member to the Industrial and Fair Employment Tribunals, NI.
• Professionally qualified holding a Post Graduate Certificate in Employment Law and Practice from Ulster University.
